I'm going to preach be prepared.
I'm not speaking for the band by putting this. Only myself. so don't think we are some political band now. In fact, I'm the one that cares, and I'm pretty politically nieve.Just wanted to share this.
If most of you don't know,our song Nablus is about the city of the same name in Palestine. I feel mighty strongly about the whole situation goin on in Palestine and Israel.

| Back Again |

Heres a quick update, just for all you kids who maybe read this:
-We've been writing alot of new stuff, and showcased three new songs so far. Up to date, people have said they enjoyed them, so we just might keep one or two :)
-Played alot of shows too. Definitly check the myspace for shows coming your way. For our SF fans, especially the one or two of you who keep asking us to play in SF , well, we're going to play there soon. Of course, you might have to be 21 to come in , which is just a slight problem . If you want to go , and are under 21, plan on aging soon.
- We just started Demoing our music, which is a sign we'll be recording within due time.

"Band of the month: September
Picture Atlantic!
The first taste of Picture Atlantic came about 4/28/06 at the Saratoga recreation center. They opened up for Getters CD release and they amazed me then. In a time where a lot of the music is sounding the same PA took their place in the forefront with power vocals and piano by Nick Bartunek, guitar Patrick Chu, drums JohnTran and Ryan Blair on bass. At this time PA was searching for a studio and producer for their CD so I had to eagerly await the debut arrival to come later in 06.
Things finally came full circle August 19, 2006 at the San Jose skate cancer society benefit show. There were a few good bands but none could stand up to PA. Picture Atlantic has been spending the last several months making their mark in San Jose, as well as getting their six song EP titled "Change Is Welcome" finished, produced, recorded and mixed by Aaron Hellam at Castle Ultimate Studios in Oakland, CA.
Each song (in my own opinion) seems to be driven by love and desire, in the song "Every Oceans Tide" Nick sings out "and I'm ready to make a big step in the right direction with intentions of starting over again/lets get lost together in all kind of weather/lets take a walk in the woods and it's silent/and it's so cold/lend me your hand/ for just this one dance". ~Nick~ Every Oceans Tide is kind of what goes through my head when I'm talking to that significant other, when times might be hard. When you get in a fight with someone, your head can really blaze through a lot of thoughts, thus the choppy lyrics. But they all link up as a whole ~Nick~.
Then there is "Nablus" the lyrics at the end goes "kill the men and hit the kids/tell us about our sins we want tomorrow now/we want tomorrow now we've lived our lives from year to year/there is nothing left for us to fear". ~Nick~ Nablus is actually about Palestine. Its the name of a City in one of the occupied areas of Israel. Its pretty vague, but its about the struggle that goes on in the occupied areas ~Nick~. The other songs that grace their must have CD Auburn Hair, Movie, There will be words and Monday.
Picture Atlantic is an amazing band that I believe will hit it big by late 2006 to early 2007. Change Is Welcome IS a must have CD. Believe me you will not be disappointed and will be the best $7.00 you will ever invest.

Well...here we are. Just one tiny step in our gigantic stair case.
We released our EP. Its called Change is Welcome.

Been trying new things. I'm proud to say we covered a Radiohead song. Maybe you'll hear it sometime.
Lets not beat around the bush . I updated to update. Saying something useful is something I can't do right now. Its an awful feeling.
If you'd like to help the band out , you should donate some money to us. This is so cheesy. We have a pay pal. Even a dollar would rock . For gas mainly. And also we can get new shirts. Try it out.

I've got a suprise ready for the CD release show.
I'm a huge fan of keys. All kinds. Door Keys, keyboard keys. But most of all, musical keys. I'm aquiring quite a bit. So many , I think I might be making the band angry with all my heavy equipment.
So kids!
Whats new?
We just got back from our little "tour". It got cut short unfortunaley, and thanks to not having enough money , there were some almost disasters. But , we got out of it. and we were safe once again.
If you go to the myspace, there should be a link to our photobucket. Up on that site, is some pictures from one of our shows.
The tour had alot of good things to offer, namely lots of recordable things. Thanks to my sister, I was able to record some good stuff. Whos to say what is being made of it all now. In a small room , on a macintosh, there is a boy mixing and matching scenes and music!

update:
-cd release is july 28th with park
-we are getting new shirts once we o.k. a design
-once we get more shirts we can sell them online via our paypal account

| A couple times |

well,
Our little mini tour thing ALMOST got cancelled completely.
But things are working out now. We had to cancel one show..and another show was cancelled by the people putting it on.
But we're still playing Hollywood , and Turlock.
Has anyone seen the new Pirates of the Caribean movie yet? if not........SEE IT!
It was truly a cool movie. If you're not THAT big a snob about movies, then I think you will like it. Another note, I went to Disney land!!! yeah woot woot. The band and I , and Ryan's precious. Also David. Hes our unofficial fifth member. The Pirates of the Caribean ride was redone to included Jack Sparrow into it. They did a good job. The robot really looked like Johnny Depp.
I've also discovered the joys of Craigslist...which is supplying me with money to help out the band.

| Just a Taste |

Well, we all just got back from a wedding roadtrip. Let me tell you...it was pretty crazy.
8-10 hours both ways, driving from SC to San Diego.
It made us all realise what we're in for when we do our little tour. Hey , two weeks is short, but 10 hours is long!!
Sooooooo whats up with you cats?
After having been in Fresno, San Diego, and Los Angeles within the past two weeks, Santa Clara's heat feels like nothing. It actually makes me happy.I'm not all cranky now,because Fresno heat is like being a pizza in an oven....in hell.
Besides feeling like a Hell Pizza, this summer so far has been really good. I've gotten to see and meet alot of people, which has been really cool. Personally , meeting new people is really fun. theres something about meeting someone new, and discovering things about them, that I find pretty fascinating.
Thank you , to all of you crazy cats who came out to the Cave to see us. That was a fun show. I do understand though , that the vocals weren't coming through the PA very well, and that there were some other sound issues. For those problems , I'm sorry. I hate seeing a show where the singing and guitars sound like a jet taking off inside a glass factory being run by crying babies. Being there does help us though (more in the department of Morale than anything).
You're all lovely.
Keep well please...because if you don't , I'll be sad.

Great band. They are THE best live.
We've got alot of shows coming up , and hopefully I'll be able to update this blog for the shows. I think that should be fun. Thats it really.

Hello there!
Updating for the sake of updating.
Tuesday, the 20th, we are going to finish up some work we've been doing. It'll be fun I think. I know it will.
We're also playing a show at the end of the month , which I'm going to try and advertise for alot.It'll be at The Cave, and the Fighting Jacks, and The Listening will be there.
I like The Cave, its big and its fun.
People have sent in messages saying they have tried to start accounts so they could comment us. It should be a pretty simple signup process, and also Blogspot is WAY better, and easier to use than livejournal, or xanga, or anything like that.

Hey everyone (meaning the 2 people who read this)
Tonight around 12:30ish they played our song "Every Ocean's Tide" on Live 105 (on the Listener live space.) I want to give a huge thanks to James from MNKY Productions and Live 105 in general for having us on, as well as a huge thanks to everyone who listens to our band. You all make us feel amazing, even if its just a simple comment or message on myspace. So once again, thanks everybody.
In other news, some new stuff will be out soon. I can't talk about it or they will take me away in black helicopters and you will never see me again.

Just an update.
No one is Dead. We are all very much alive.
I'm ashamed to say it was a conspiracy masterminded by me for 6.6.06
I'm surprised anyone even cared to be honest! But to those of you who were concerned, Thank you for your condoloences. I didn't mean to make anyone upset or sad. Please forgive me.
The band is headed in a good direction.
